Double Check Before You Background Check

Double Check Before You Background Check

Have you heard in today’s techspeak language “the results of computation are only as reliable as the data you input?” In the field of computer science and information technology, GIGO (garbage in, garbage out) refers to the fact that computers, since they operate by logical processes, will unquestionably process flawed input data and produce undesired output.

What does this have to do with background checks?

When you enter a first and last name to run a background check, our system will use the names that you submitted, but if they were to be reversed, sometimes there is no way for our computer process to identify this mistake, and it will run the background check on the name submitted.  To speed up the process of your background checks and to keep from having fees charged for mistakes in the entry of your applicant or tenant names, always check that you have the correct first name and last name in the right submission boxes and the spelling of names is correct.    You will also want to double-check the social security number, birth date, and driver’s license number if you are running an MVR.  These mistakes will not only produce inaccurate reports, because they will be checking on the wrong person, but they can also create an added cost to your background check search fee.  It will be only after our staff catches these discrepancies that you will need to repeat the process and pay for another screening process to obtain accurate information.

So instead of  “GIGO”, C4 Operations stresses to remember to “DOUBLE CHECK BEFORE YOU BACKGROUND CHECK”.  If you have any questions as you submit your order, we offer 24-7 customer service by calling 888-519-6283.
